(SOTS UNDER)

SOT PARENT: We’re so happy with the care and love from Children’s.

SOT PARENT 2: I can’t imagine going through something like this without the kind of support we found here.

SOT CHILD: They have been with me all along, and they’ve given me so much to look forward to.

MUSIC OUT

VO: Deciding to go forward with a heart transplant for your child is a very serious and important decision. And Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is here to support your family every step of the way.

VO: The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Heart Transplant program is an integral part of Sibley Heart Center, one of the country's top pediatric cardiac programs. Since 1988, our team has performed more than 145 heart transplants, making Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta one of the largest pediatric heart transplant centers in the country.

SOT PARENT: I like the numbers! I want to know that my child’s is getting the best care available.

SOT SURGEON: We are at the forefront of all the research and all the technology for pediatric transplantation. It’s my job to be the best. And that’s why I’m here for the families. To offer my knowledge and my expertise and my understanding and support.

SOT NURSE: We are passionate about what we do! We are totally committed to these children. But it’s not only exceptional medical care at Children’s. We care about the needs of your whole family. This is the work we do. Our staff is here to lend support through the whole process and beyond.

MUSIC UP

VO: Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is dedicated exclusively to the care of children. The transplant program is at Children’s at Egleston.

SOT NURSE (or other person): This facility is only for children, so everything about it is designed with children in mind, to reassure them and make them comfortable. And to make the whole family feel supported and cared for and comfortable too.

SOT PARENT: Once we saw all that CHILDREN’S had to offer, we knew this was the place for us.

MUSIC UP AND UNDER

SOT PARENT: Deciding to go forward with transplantation was just a really, really hard decision. But at CHILDREN’S we have so much support among the staff and with other families going through the same thing. We’ve met lifelong friends here! It’s helped us so much.

SOT CHILD: I’ve met so many other kids going through the same treatment I am. I know from my experience at CHILDREN’S that I’m not alone!

SOT CHILD: If you have to be in the hospital for longer than a couple of days, CHILDREN’S has teachers to help us keep up with our schoolwork. The teachers can even come to our school to give a presentation to my class about having a heart transplant.

SOT CHILDREN’S C.L. SPECIALIST: The most critical part of the whole process really is after the actual transplant. Transplantation is just the first step. So support has to be ongoing too.

VO: At CHILDREN’S, families will find ongoing support and fellowship with our unique programs.

NATS BREAK FOR CAMP ENVIRONMENT

VO: Camp Second Chance gives transplant kids and their families a special place and time to be together. And Camp Braveheart is a magical week where children with all types of heart conditions – including transplants -- can just be regular kids, with no worries about medical procedures or pressures from the outside world.

MUSIC UP

SOT PARENT: We’re looking ahead. This whole process is a new road for us. But with the support of CHILDREN’S, we’re going to do it. We’re going forward with our lives!
